That did it for me! Thanks! 🙂
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterDoes this fix the issues? https://www.binaryturf.com/files/extensions/colorfultabs/colorfultabs24.4.xpi
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterusing 29.0.1, version used through official firefox extension page and auto update. No beta. It would seem that this issue is due to the rounded top corners of the active tab in 29.0.1 firefox version. Ran the update to 30.0 which restored full rectangular shapes the issue vanished and the active tabs retained their color and that full size horizontal bar was back below the tab where it should be and not at the top.
so it would seem that the extension doesn't apply the color properly if the tab isn't rectangular
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterWim: Is this a beta version? Which version of Firefox is this? Any other addons that you are using?
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterI'm here to join the club. Color alignment is of on the tabs, horizontal color bar all the way atop the browser window
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterUlf's post highlights the two preferences being vocalized; having FF's default active tab highlight, or not. When a theme is using the FF default doesn't blend very well, as in Ulf's case. This leads to my suggestion to use the 'Highlight the active tab' CT option to allows users to select their preference. Or have a new option, etc... 🙂 Well, and some don't like the square tabs (or tab coloring, as the mouse hover shows that the tab itself is still rounded, its the color application that isn't).
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterUlf: which version of colorful tabs and Firefox are you using? Which other add-ons are you using?
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterHere I have attached screenshots using FF31beta1 in Win7 with:
1. CT24.0
2. CT24.2
3. CT24.2 modded per post #16222*I marked in each screenshot the Active Tab (1) and a Mouse Hover (2). The mouse pointer was masked from the capture, of course.

Shivanand SharmaKeymasterHello Shivanand,
I think my problem is not described here till now.
The Coloring for the inactive tabs works fine but the active tab get's always the standard-color.
You can see the choosed color glimpse behind the tab (see screenshot)
I use FF 30.0 and CT 24.0 on Win7Best Regards
UlfShivanand SharmaKeymasterCan you pls upload a screenshot?
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterYes, maybe the next version.
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterIn tree style tabs, make sure you do not use one of the skins. Use the default appearance. If you are using classic theme restorer, make sure you only use "Squared Tabs (classic)".
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterCT24.2 has again broken (to me, at least) the default Firefox active bar highlight display, with its update for the FF30 release; I'm on FF31beta, Win7. See posts 16203, 16243, 16251, and 16256.
Shiv, what do you think of my idea to use the existing ‘Highlight the currently selected tab’ or a new option to have a user select between the Firefox active tab default highlight vs the 'squared active tab' looks?
Thanks!
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterYes, that worked! Thank you!
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterYeah! V24.2 fixed ColorfulTabs in Firefox 30. It's all purdy again. Thanks.
