Hi, I puzzeled some more and found the solution myself. In Tab Mix Plus I had to change a setting. I will try to explain what I did, but I don't know the English words that Firefox is using, so I will try to translate and hope it looks like the English version of Firefox.
In Firefox go to "Tools" > "Tab Mix Plus options" > "Layout" > "Tab" > "Ask attention for: > then make sure the box before "unloaded tabs" is unchecked.
This was the solution for me...
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterHi, I am having the exact same problem and I think the latest version of ColorfulTabs is conflicting with Tab Mix Plus. If I turn off Tab Mix Plus I get the colors as usual and if I turn it back on again, all the tabs start out colored, but then turn into off-white. In my Firefox this is the same color like when I don't use ColorfulTabs.
The version of ColorfulTabs I had before this update didn't have this problem, so I hope you can fix this anytime soon. Thanks in advance, greetings,
DanielaShivanand SharmaKeymasterCan you please upload a screenshot?
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterAny chance that "Generate colors from the site’s favicon" could make it in a future update?
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterWow, thanks, Danni! It looks really good. I downloaded it & saved a copy.
I really appreciate your sharing it with me.
I'd like to see your translation when it's done. My German is pretty rusty, but I can always use the practice!
BTW, if they need someone to translate it into French, I think I could handle it. (That's my stronger foreign language.)
Thanks again!
Kitty
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterHi Kitty,
I have saved the Online "ColorfulTabs Documentation And Help" as PDF for German Translation... !!! ☺¯(ツ)/¯
I hope that can help you...

Shivanand SharmaKeymasterA vote for 3)!
It would be great to finally have control over individual tab widths in Firefox!Shivanand SharmaKeymasterOh Flip! I LIKE that idea!
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterAll these extras sound interesting but escpecially for #1, #2, #3 and maybe for #5 I fear incompatibilities to other tab related extensions like Tabmix Plus.
But I'd like to suggest another feature that I wished for a long time since I started using Colorful Tabs:
• Generate colors from the site's faviconI used ChromaTabs Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/chromatabs-plus/) years ago before I switched to Colorful Tabs.
I like Colorful Tabs a lot more but I really miss that special feature. Maybe you could use some of that code if you decide to implement this.Shivanand SharmaKeymasterI had to try opening firefox without Tree Style Tab (not disabled, tried just 1 hierarchy). Result: Colorful Tabs seems to work correctly. All the tabs are colored fairly randomly, which is what i want. So, nevermind, it's my fault. Tho if i had a "re-color all", i could still use both addons.
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterbtw, i use Colorful Tabs 19.8, Tab Mix Plus to put the tabs on the left, and Tree Style Tab to make them hierarchical. i hope these others arent incompatible.
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterLook what Colorful Tabs is doing to me these days:
It didn't used to do this.
Every time i restart firefox 23.0.1 on my win7 x64 laptop, i have to right-click on each tab and pick re-color. This is a pain.

Shivanand SharmaKeymasterHi Mr. Sharma!
I shall number, if you don't mind? My answers reflect whether or not I personally would use the feature.1) Send tab to a certain position. Yes
2) New tab before/after this tab. Maybe
3) Height/width settings for selected/unselected/all tab(s). Maybe
4) Color the toolbar with the color of the current tab. No
5) Set tabs to mini mode (width the size of pinned tab). Maybe?
6) Flat Tabs (without rounded corners) NoAll thoughtful ideas, and we users appreciate your hard work!
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterMr. Sharma:
Plan to implement this in a future release.
Oh thank you! It's really VERY attractive, and makes what one is doing easier to find. I think I could include screenshots (if you'd like) if I figure out how to get it to 'show up' again.
Moonbeam:
...there is (supposedly) a way to put the tabs back on the bottom for FF.
Thank YOU! I still don't see the logic for why this was done; in my window, my bookmarks toolbar (which I always show) still separates the tab bar from the navigation toolbar.
Maybe I've missed something or something...
