Sukki: Chrome doesn't allow for large popups Max width and height is 800px by 600px I think. And remember this is a quick version that I built in two days working 18 hours.
I did make sure that it pulls up the active tab, colors all tabs based on domain names, allow you to close the unnecessary ones and scroll left and right. I've been in pain for months since I started using Chrome. Now I can access and use all tabs. I'll upload a demo video soon.
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterCurrently Firefox Quantum (Firefox 57 and upwards) has no provision to allow for styling of tabs. The same is being tracked in Bug 1320585
The Mozilla team has decided to not work on this feature. Meanwhile I'm trying to find a way to get it working in the latest Firefox. While this is sorted out, you may want to use the Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) version from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/faq/
I've just released it for Chrome though https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/colorfultabs-for-chrome/fageloggidhmmlofkpibpmngbimkmhdb.
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterThe bluriness is the Enable Text Tab Glow option. It seems to have been turned on permanently with the latest update. (Even if the Enable Text Tab Glow check box is unchecked, the option remains on.)
For now, go into the options (right click tab, select ColorfulTabs -> Options), then on the General tab (you should already be on it), change the "Color of tab-label" (it's the last option on the bottom).
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterAlso, tabs are faded with 'no fading' set.
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterIs is your experience that ColorfulTabs will only work with the default Firefox theme?
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterWhenever two pieces of code are trying to do the same thing, one will win and one will lose. Themes that try to take control of the tab appearance break colorfultabs.
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterAll themes break ColorfulTabs except the Firefox Default theme.
What is so different about the Firefox “Default” theme that allows ColorfulTabs to work, even when Classic Theme Restorer is enabled — yet every other theme breaks ColorfulTabs?
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterSorry I didn’t make it more clear, but ALL themes break ColorfulTabs except the Firefox Default theme. There are many thousands of themes that break ColorfulTabs. Clearly the issue is not with any specific theme. Perhaps this issue is with “Classic Theme Restorer” that I have installed?

Thanks again for your time. I know that you are very busy and I really appreciate it.
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterI just released an update and now there's a dedicated area to manage tab-highlighting. This makes it easier for users to manage selected tab highlight and for me to code related features easily.
So jwh's suggestion is coming in the next update.

Shivanand SharmaKeymasterOne thing you could do it ask the developer of the theme to see why it breaks ColorfulTabs. Meanwhile I'll take a look at things on my end and see what the issue is.
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterSo, do you think there is any possible fix for this?
Thanks for your time.
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterThe pic named "Cyberfox" is of my browser with a dark theme showing Colorful Tabs all transparent except for the active tab which is gray. All my browser extensions are also shown here.
The pic named "Cyberfox_themed" shows the browser with a different darkish theme, and Colorful Tabs is also transparent but for the gray active tab. All non-default themes cause Colorful Tabs to behave this way.
The pic named "Cyberfox_default" is right after I enabled the Default Theme. All the tabs are now properly colored and Colorful Tabs works perfectly, including custom tab colors for domains.
Question: how do I make Colorful Tabs work with a different theme from the Default Firefox Theme? I thought it was Classic Theme Restorer that was causing the problem with Colorful Tabs, but the tab colors work in Default theme (unless the Default theme disables Classic Theme Restorer, and that is why Colorful Tabs works with the Default theme?) Thanks for any help!
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterYup, just one guy trying to do everything and working Sundays too 🙂
Can you pls send a screenshot? Thanks.
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterIs anyone home?
