Is there a way to make Colorful Tabs work with Classic Theme Restorer?
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterHello, I came to this forum to find out if ColorfulTabs has an update to make it compatible with Classic Theme Restorer when not using the "Default" theme. From the posts above, it seems like everyone using CTR and Tab Mix Plus with the latest Firefox have no issues with ColorfulTabs. But for me the tabs are only colored when using the Default theme (very light blue). With any other theme the tabs are transparent when inactive, and the active tab is gray. On a dark theme the tabs are not readable. Disabling ColorfulTabs allows them to be readable again.
I am using Win 7 x64 and the latest version of CyberFox (v39.0), a 64-bit Firefox fork. I also use Classic Theme Restorer and Tab Mix Plus. I can get Colorful tabs to work properly on this setup only with the Default Firefox theme. ANY other theme breaks ColorfulTabs.
(Alternatively, is there any way to change the main color of the Default theme? If I can just change that light blue to a different color I would just use the default theme and Colorful Tabs would continue to work.)
Thanks for any assistance!
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterIn my hacked .css, the part that is commented out can be shortened back to here without noticeable impact (tested in Win7/8/10 and Linux):
.australis .tabbrowser-tab .tab-background-middle,
.australis .tabbrowser-tab:hover .tab-background {
background-image:none !important;
background-color:transparent !important;
} */Or another interesting option, if its moved back one more section, it will still show part of the original color, to allow reference to other domains (if using the domain coloring option, as I do); like this:
.australis .tabbrowser-tab .tab-background {
margin-left:0;
margin-right:0;
} */

Note, that my previously attached .css doesn't have your latest merge for 'max-width' in that file (which I put in my own .css):.colorfultabs-minified tab:not([pinned]) {
min-width:32px;
max-width:48px;
margin-left:10px;
}.colorfultabs-minified tab:not([pinned])[selected="true"] {
min-width:48px;
max-width:64px;

jwh: I’ve put it on my to do list. [...]Cool; though my changes were just a hack; I could never figure out how to plumb ‘tab.tabbrowser-tab.standout’ to disable those sections, in the CSS. So 'credit' would probably be a bit much, but a mention might be fine. 😛
Thanks again!Shivanand SharmaKeymasterChristieR0390: You can go to the tab's context menu > ColorfulTabs > Go To Current Tab.
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterjwh: I've put it on my to do list. I'll check out your code and see how things work out on win, linux and mac. If it works then I'll release the improvements in the new version with due credits to you.
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterHey Shiv; any thoughts on my suggestions/pics/css a few posts above?
Shivanand SharmaKeymasterI also enjoy colorful tabs. But to make it "perfect"--I would prefer to know that THE LAST TAB OPENED IS THE ONE THAT IS LAST IN THE "LINEUP"
Right now, the tab that is being used can be the first or in the middle of many. Then I have to search for the tab that is the same color as the line that goes across my screen. I would really appreciate having the tabs line up according to order: the first tab opened, the second tab opened, etc. Then I
Would know which one is connected to the screen I'm looking.Also would like a choice of tab colors. Thanks, ChristieR0390

Shivanand SharmaKeymasterAlready solved, thank you very much.
It succeeds disabling the aggressive mode.https://www.binaryturf.com/topic/differentiating-the-currently-selected-tab
Currently-Selected Tab UNLESS ‘Agressive Mode’ is turned OFF, in which event ALL the other tabs lose their Colour!!!Thank you for creating this plugin. With Tab Mix Plus could differentiate the current tab with red, but this function was disabled when installed Tree Style Tabs, so now use tabs Colorfull Tabs only to highlight the current tab to red.

I don't insist on that this is a ColorfulTabs' bug, maybe for some people this is a useful feature for dragging fullscreen window, therefore I ask you to add the option something like "Default Firefox behaviour for choosing tabs" in extension's settings.

It came with the major update to Fx a while ago - don't recall the version number. But the update that just came out - 38.0.1 - seems to have fixed it. I may be speaking too soon, but so far so good.
I always thought it was Tree Style Tab's issue.
