LOVE color tabs... Can't even imagine ever going back to monovision.
1) Send tab to a certain position... No, ffox can already drag and drop (or auto-app #5).
2) New tab before/after this tab... No, default/after already works well (or auto-app #5).
3) Height/width settings for selected/unselected/all tab(s)... Others might like, I obviously do, am already happy with HCTP (height options) and TMP (width options), but neither needed if you do add own size options.
4) Color the toolbar with the color of the current tab... Others may like, and could shrink tab-stack bar if using default theme, but I would still prefer to use personas, along with CTB to color the icons, which could then fade (overly blend) into some of the tab colors whenever the toolbars were changed.
5) Set tabs to mini mode (width the size of pinned tab)... Recently you added the "all" option, but if "some" sites could be set as pin-sized, and thus also left-located (#1#2), then would love this function for app-type sites (fb/twitter/etc., no big deal if we can add more, could just be those two domains). Maybe also an "auto" option (auto-app any domain with more than one tab open at the time), perhaps with remember(0), forget(1), and immediate release(2-tab minimum) as sub-options (and/or, default=1)
6) Flat Tabs (without rounded corners)... Please round out at least a few pixels around the upper corners.Thanks for asking votes, making greatness even greater. For now, the main request is rounded corners, to make it feel like manilla folders, and look like australis, without necessarily taking any space from labels (only cut from corners). Also, very minor, but recent versions have a thin (~1px) dead line along the top, where you now have to pull down the mouse a little to select the tabs, and a another thin (~1px) line above the tab-stack that obscures personas (all win7/ff31/ct24.6, even w/o other add-ons).
rounded/flat(square) tabs option highly needed.

thanks lots. =)Hi again - I updated to 24.6 and the lettering on the tabs still doesn't retain its color when closing and re-opening Firefox. The domain colors are fine, the tabs always stay with black backgrounds for me with "." set as the domain. I've attached two screen shots: #1 shows my setting for the lettering on the tabs -- it's the yellow color for the lettering that is defaulting to black, but the setting still claims it's yellow when it's not. #2 shows my settings for the domain/background color which is working as I want it to and making all the backgrounds on my tabs black. I may very well be missing something so please let me know if so, thanks 🙂
Mary: Just released version 24.6 which addresses this specific issue.
Somehow Firefox doesn't color new blank tabs when they are opened at random or under load conditions.
As to your specific issue, the "." doesn't match tab that are blank and do not have any domain loaded. For that you should create a preference "about:newtab" and it should match the new tabs. Please let me know if you still have issues. Pls also attach the options screen of domain preferences as well as a screenshot of Firefox.
Hello, this is my first time here and I don't think I have seen my problem addressed; if I've missed it, please let me know. 🙂
I just started using Colorful Tabs, and through this forum I have updated to 24.4. I have it set to give the tab labels a specific color (in this case, yellow to match a theme I am using) as well as the setting for domain tab colors set to "." so all the tabs are the same color. However, when I exit Firefox and start a new browser, the color defaults to black and I have to go back in to reset it. The tab label setting shows the color as being set to yellow, but I have to change it to another color, save, then go back in and change it to the desired color or it doesn't take. The domain color setting does not change. I have tried disabling all my addons and re-enabling them one by one; it has no effect on this odd bug. I am using FF30 on Windows 7. It's not a huge problem because once I fix it upon starting FF, the color stays; I just have to reset it when I start a whole new session.
FWIW, I am also not seeing rounded tabs with the 24.4 update, but they were always square for me so that is not a big deal. Just thought I would mention it. Thanks. 🙂
I agree! The rounded corners on active (and mouseover) tabs that we get in FF without CT enabled is really nice and really helps when you have a lot of tabs open and want to see at a glance which one is the active one. It showed through a couple of releases ago, but then disappeared again. I even downgraded to version 23.8 just so I could have the rounded corners AND the CT colours on the tabs, even though I know it's not actually a good idea to use an old version.

to answer your question: At the time of my first post I used FireFox 30.0 and ColorfulTabs 24.3 I think. Now as the automatic updating worked, I have the CT Version of 24.4.
And now the problem has gone. Of course the tabs are now squared again. But that doesn't matter for me 🙂
